MIXTAPE TWO will happen, one day... Our MIXTAPE books are compilations of short fiction by Aussie authors, and we are currently looking for submissions. Give us the edgy stuff, the dark and deep stuff. We want speculative fiction, literary fiction, sci-fi, fantasy, horror... Whatever you've got. You know that story you wrote that would be impossible to sell to a publisher because it's just so different and unmarketable? That's our jam!

ROCK OUT WITH YA ...

Back in 2016, Bob Dylan snagged the Nobel Prize for Literature – for his lyrics. 

There followed the collective groan of a million authors, going 'How's that fair?' 

So, while us writers pursue entry into the rock-n-roll hall of fame, we here at Up & Up Media invite Australia's top lyricists to pen some narratives.

No kidding, lyricists are like literary wizards. When we cooked up MIXTAPE ONE, we brainstormed the best writers, and guess what? Annoyingly, our minds kept drifting to lyricists. It occurred to us that a book of indie short stories that were mainly by singers was a bit off track from the original idea… So, we didn't approach those folks to submit.

But the idea was sticky. We wanted this book now because, let's face it, lyricists are top-tier storytellers. They tell great stories, captivate their audience, get poetic, get brutally honest, lay their souls bare, convey every emotion in the book, and god knows they can be cryptic. All the ingredients for killer short stories.

So, let's do this!
